CEBU province’s tourism stakeholders have formed the Coalition of Tourism Groups to push Cebu globally as the Philippines’ tourism hub. Infrastructure development has reached a feverish pace. For the ASEAN summit, Mactan International Airport will get a new VIP building, while a state-of-the-art convention facility, Cebu International Convention Center (CICC), is being built in Mandaue City. The latter is also the site of Cebu Boardwalk, an integrated development touted as Cebu’s premier business, commercial, institutional and tourism hub. It will have themed leisure, recreational and residential facilities including a marina, esplanade, amphitheatre, restaurants, shops, and deluxe, first-class and standard hotels.
