BORACAY, arguably Philippine tourism’s most exquisite beach destination, will soon get an accommodation boost to cope with the room shortages often experienced during peak seasons.
The island, which has more than 200 resorts of varying sizes and star ratings, will add the 88-room Discovery Shores Boracay Resort and Spa this December and the 220-room Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa in mid-2007. The 198-room Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Convention Center, the island’s biggest resort, will add 90 rooms by December, while Fairways & Bluewater Golf Resort and Country Club has added 24 units to its Mulligan Golf Hotel.
