VIETNAM - spending US$5.5 billion to develop tourism

Vietnam has budgeted an investment of US$5.5 billion to develop its tourism industry as a growth engine under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Action Program 2006 - 2010. The tourism development plan will include promoting the country's image globally, improve tourism products, with emphasis on the country's ecological, cultural and historical resources.
